Family home in Montcada and Reixac

In this project, we carried out the interior design and decoration of the renovation of a ground floor of a single-family house, located on one of the slopes of Collserola, very close to Barcelona.

A couple with two children live in this house who needed to decorate the living room and dining room, and make a modification to the rear façade to allow more light to enter through the garden. The most important thing for this family was that the interior design of this renovation solved the circulation problem on the ground floor, as there was no open space between the kitchen and part of the common areas. This house was out of date in terms of the aesthetic line, since there was a discordance between the current and modern style of the clients with the decoration and styling of their home.

The aesthetic objective was to refresh the ground floor and make it warm at the same time, fusing elegant touches with a timeless style. We preserved the serpentine marble floor and the table base, so that the decoration of this project had some stately element, achieving a harmony when the classic and the modern coexist. On one wall in the dining room, we added patterned wallpaper, from the Elitis brand; The multifunctional or nerve element in the center of the ground floor is made of smoked oak wood to give warmth to the room, seeking dialogue with the dining room table and lamp, made by members of our team, with the same material.

In the decoration of this ground floor, one of the doors stands out, which is made of black steel, as does the frame that surrounds the dining table, part of the lamp and the coffee tables, as well as the baseboards throughout the ground floor. . The rest of the furniture located on the ground floor is made with white lacquered and textured DM.

In the decoration of the hall on the ground floor, a special and unique piece was chosen: a lounge chair CH 07, by Carl Hansen & Son. Also notable in the decoration of the ground floor is the Miguel Mila TMC model floor lamp: it has a chrome metal structure on the upper part and black on the lower part; a height-adjustable white methacrylate screen; and the lamp is turned on and off by lightly pulling the cable. Our client is a person who loves blues and turquoises; For this reason, we put “brushstrokes” on the carpet, and two armchairs of those shades. The modernity of the dining room table contrasts with the feet of the table, again a nod between classic and modern in perfect harmony.
