Apartment in Sants quarter, Barcelona

High complexity visual simplicity

We are facing a family floor of the ’70s, about 80 m 2 square, where lives a family of four members, marriage and two children. After the years, the apartment has been filled with the lives of these four people. Spaces badly used, many things insight, an outdated distribution and the aging of the general set. It is then when the floor needs an update at the level of decoration and interior design, redistributed and re-furnished with the objective of aging with elegance and to avoid that everyday life again surpasses the design and concept of housing.

The whole interior design project revolves around the living room and dining room, a double piece connected to the kitchen on one side, the rooms on the other side and the suite, bathrooms and office on the other side. Take space where there is no distribution, connect spaces and make others emerge between these connections and interpenetrations of materials and spaces.

As in many of our decoration and interior design projects, furniture design is once again the key element to respond in the best possible way to the briefing that customers had taken to us. Tones, textures and materials but above all distribution and furniture as an inseparable couple, as a couple to think at the same time. Starting from the aforementioned connection between living room, dining room and kitchen, passing through furniture that makes work points emerge if needed, corridors, extendable tables, sliding doors and storage right from everyday experience: number of drawers, doors , shelves, electricity outlets and solutions to hide all connections,

Almost all surfaces and corners of this family floor hide functionality. Nothing is standardized, everything is thought and manufactured in detail. Offering warmth, sobriety and elegance but also functionality, quality and timelessness.

Joan Llongueras and Coblonal have been responsible for the interior design, decoration and construction of this functional family floor.
